The Road Not Taken is a famous poem by Robert Frost and read by all of us in school .
According to the poet, he took the road less travelled which made a lot of difference in his life. He did not follow the path taken by many others and went for his own adventure in life.
Many a times in our life, we are in a dilemma where we have to choose(make a decision). Sometimes the circumstances are so challenging that we are scared to make a decision. Because our whole life depends on that one decision.
But, who has seen the future? The time machine is not yet made. Sorry, we cannot see the future. Even if we had the access to see our future and we don’t like it! Can we change it exactly, how we want? Can we plan every decision of our life?
No, We cannot!
Have you watched “The Butterfly Effect“. Evan finds he has the ability to travel back in time to inhabit his former self (that is, his adult mind inhabits his younger body) and to change the present by changing his past behaviors. Having been the victim of several childhood traumas aggravated by stress-induced memory losses, he attempts to set things right for himself and his friends, but there are unintended consequences for all. At the end, he chooses a life where he is paralysed and never meets his girl. Sad!
Sometimes we just have to follow our instincts and have confidence in ourself and just step forward. We might fall a few times, go through tough times. And we might wish to step back. Don’t! Just move forward. We cannot control everything. People make mistakes. Our mistakes and failures, teach us something new. We learn from our failures. They make us strong. So accept them and learn from them.
There will be new challenges in our life. We can be our own guardian, take a sword in our hand and win over it. Don’t let those new challenges, those tough times make you weak. Just fight back like a warrior. We may not have a control over our past or future. But our present is in our hands.
Just step forward. Take the road less travelled, if needed. We never know the path we took leads us to our destination sooner.
